Priv8Vitals privacy policy
For iPhone and Apple Watch. Effective 11 October 2026.
Priv8Vitals reads some of the most personal data you have: your heart, your sleep, your workouts, your cycle. The promise is not that it reads little; it is that what it reads is for you and stays with you: on your iPhone and Apple Watch, and in your own iCloud if you use it.
- We don’t collect your data, and we don’t use it. We run no servers, so there is nowhere for it to go.
- We don’t sell anything about you. There is nothing to sell.
- No ads. Not now, not ever.
- No account. There is nothing to sign up for.
- Some features have to reach the internet. Weather, air quality, elevation and tides come from public services. The app asks them directly with an approximate location, and we never see the request or the answer.
What the app handles, and where it lives
| Data | Where it lives | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Apple Health data you allow: heart rate, HRV, resting heart rate, sleep, workouts, activity, body measurements, cycle tracking and more | Read from Apple Health on your iPhone. Vitals never writes anything back to Apple Health. | Your scores are worked out from it. |
| Your scores, daily vitals, workouts, morning and evening check-ins, and journal | On your iPhone. With iCloud on, also in your own private iCloud database, so your devices stay in step. | So you can see your history and trends. |
| Weather snapshots: the day’s weather, air quality, elevation and nearest tide station, with your approximate location and city | Same as above. | So weather can be shown with your history and taken into account in your scores. |
| Your profile: age, sex, height, weight and lifestyle details you choose to enter | On your iPhone only, in a separate store with the strongest iOS file protection. Never synced, not even to your own iCloud. | To personalize your scores. |
| Today’s scores for widgets and the Watch app | Passed directly between the app, its widgets and your paired Apple Watch, on your own devices. | So your scores show on your Home Screen and your wrist. |
| Purchase record | Apple, via StoreKit. | Required to confirm your purchase or subscription. We see whether a purchase exists, never who you are. |
| App log and usage log | On your iPhone only. The app log is kept for 3 days, the usage log for 14. | For troubleshooting. Nothing is uploaded. |
| CSV exports | A temporary file, made only when you export, and cleaned up after you share it. | Your data, in a format any spreadsheet can open. |
What we receive
The default answer is: nothing. We run no servers, so there is nowhere for your data to arrive. The app does not phone home. This is every request it makes on its own:
| Destination | When | What it sends |
|---|---|---|
| Apple WeatherKit | When the Today screen shows the weather, and in the background if you allow it. | Your approximate location. The app asks iOS for a fix accurate to about a kilometer. |
| Apple’s place-name lookup | At the same time. | The same approximate location, to get the city name for the weather card. |
| Open-Meteo, for air quality and elevation | At the same time. | Your location rounded to two decimal places, about a kilometer. Nothing else. |
| NOAA Tides and Currents (US government) | At the same time, and only if you are within about 50 miles of a tide station. | Nothing about you. The app downloads NOAA’s public list of stations, picks the nearest one on your iPhone, then asks for that station’s tide times. |
| Apple iCloud | While iCloud is on for Priv8Vitals. | Your scores, workouts, check-ins, settings and weather snapshots, to your own private iCloud database. Your profile is never included. |
| Apple App Store | When you buy, restore or the app checks your purchase. | Standard StoreKit only. |
None of these requests carry your health data, your name or your Apple ID. Like any web request, each service sees your device’s IP address. We never see these requests at all.
Links you choose to open
A few tips link to videos on YouTube, and Settings links to this website. They open only if you tap them, in your browser or the YouTube app, under those sites’ own terms.
The AI runs on your iPhone
Where Vitals uses AI, such as the coaching notes in Coaches Corner, it uses Apple Intelligence’s on-device model. Your health data is never sent anywhere to be processed. On devices without Apple Intelligence, those features simply don’t appear.
The usage log is not analytics
Vitals keeps a usage log on your iPhone: which screens you open and which buttons you tap, with the time. It helps when you report a problem.
- It never records health values, scores, check-in answers, your profile or your location.
- Nothing is ever transmitted on its own. No upload, no server, no timer.
- It is on by default, and deleted after 14 days. Read it or switch it off in Settings → Advanced Settings → Usage Analytics.
- Send Diagnostics is a deliberate act. It zips the usage log and the app log and opens the share sheet. You decide whether to send them to us.
Feedback and support
Send Feedback opens an email to support@priv8apps.com. Feature Request & Feedback opens a short Google Form in your browser, and the app attaches nothing to it.
Permissions
| Permission | Why | If you decline |
|---|---|---|
| Apple Health (read only) | The app’s whole job. You pick each category in Apple’s permission screen, and Vitals can only read what you allow. | Vitals can’t work out scores from data it can’t read. You can change your choices any time. |
| Location | An approximate location for the weather, air quality, elevation and tide cards. The app asks for “Always” so it can record the morning weather before you open it. | “While Using” works too, with weather recorded when you open the app. Say no and those cards stay empty. Everything else works. |
| Notifications | The reminders and score alerts you switch on. | No notifications. Everything else works. |
| Face ID or Touch ID | The optional app lock. | The app opens without a lock. |
| Background App Refresh | Lets the app update your scores and record the weather before you open it. | Updates happen when you open the app. |
That is the entire list. Priv8Vitals does not ask for Contacts, Photos, Camera, Microphone or Calendars, and it never writes to Apple Health.
The notifications the app sends are composed and scheduled on your device. We operate no push server and cannot send you anything.
iCloud sync
If iCloud is on for Priv8Vitals, your scores, workouts, check-ins, settings and weather snapshots are stored in your private iCloud database, which only your Apple ID can read. We can’t see it. Your profile never syncs. You can switch it off in iOS Settings → your name → iCloud.
On your device
- Optional app lock with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode.
- Hidden in the app switcher. The app blurs its screen when you leave it, so your numbers don’t show in previews.
- Your profile gets the strongest iOS file protection: it can only be read while your iPhone is unlocked.
- Copied logs expire. When you copy the app log, the copy stays on this device and clears itself after a minute.
Your data is yours, paid or not
Export everything as CSV at any time, in every state of the app: trial, paid or lapsed. Nothing you recorded is ever locked away.
Changing your mind
- Change which Health data Vitals can read in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Priv8Vitals.
- Change location access in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Priv8Vitals.
- Switch off the usage log in Settings → Advanced Settings → Usage Analytics.
- Delete your iCloud data in iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Priv8Vitals.
- Delete everything on the device by deleting the app.
Wellness, not medicine
Priv8Vitals gives wellness information. It does not diagnose, treat or give medical advice. Talk to a qualified professional about medical decisions.
Children
Priv8Vitals is meant for adults and is not intended for anyone under 16.
Third-party code
Priv8Vitals is built with Apple’s own frameworks and nothing else. It contains no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK and no attribution SDK.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change a meaningful privacy practice, we will say so in the app as well as here, and update the date at the top.
